Silver Birch Interiors eyes further growth after celebrating 10-year milestone

A FORMER Entrepreneurial Spark graduate eyes further growth after celebrating the 10-year anniversary of his luxury Kitchen business, Silver Birch Interiors.

Founder and Managing Director, Alan Macgregor, established Silver Birch Interiors (SBI) in 2014 following the completion of his Entrepreneurial Spark programme which gave him the support to build a business plan and identity for SBI, before securing a £25,000 loan from The Princes Trust to accelerate its growth plans.

During the last 10 years, Alan has grown his business to over 16 employees, increased revenue year on year with the last 3 at an average increase of +44%, been a four-time winner of Scotland’s Best Kitchen Company (2017, 2018, 2022, 2023) and progressed from working with individual clients refurbing their own homes to securing contracts with a variety of established developers, notably forming a strong relationship with Cala Homes, one of Scotland’s largest developers.

Plans already in motion for 2024 include undertaking a 6-figure refurbishment of SBI’s flagship showroom in Hamilton, expanding SBI’s footprint by acquiring property located in the east of the country to attract new clients and partners, adding a further 6 team members and launching an industry-leading employee benefits package.

Alan Macgregor, Founder of SBI, commented: “10 years ago, I was an ambitious kitchen installer who had a big dream, vision, a couple of grand and tool kit! In 2014, I was accepted onto Entrepreneurial Spark accelerator program, which still to this day was one of the most exciting and enjoyable stages of my journey. This is where it all began; 3 months off the tools to create the brand, refine my business plan and, crucially, secure the first few clients to get going!

I still pinch myself to think of the progress we have made in 10 years but it would not have been possible without our talented team, loyal clients, dependable suppliers, and all our supporters who have been there every step of the way with us.

I’m excited to be increasing our footprint this year and hugely motivated in achieving our goal for SBI to not only be the best kitchen business to work for in Scotland but in the top 10% of all types companies in the country.”

To help realise these ambitions, Alan has been accepted onto the prestigious Scale Up Scotland programme where he, alongside 11 likeminded, driven entrepreneurs, will learn the necessary skills to take SBI to the next level, paving the way for another decade of impressive growth.
