Scottish health tech startup inks North America deal with Siemens

Scottish health tech startup Relaymed has signed a deal with the healthcare unit of Siemens AG that will see its latest software rolled out across North America as part of a strategic alliance with one of the world’s leading industrial engineering conglomerates and Europe’s largest manufacturing and electronics group.
The partnership with Seimens Healthineers is already seeing Relaymed’s secure, cloud-based service connecting point-of-care (POC) medical instruments to electronic health record (EHR) systems for over 700 doctors and the plan is to roll out the technology to thousands more.
With Relaymed integration, patient test results are automatically sent from POC instruments to EHR systems, reducing the likelihood of human error by eliminating manual input from the process and saving valuable time so staff and doctors can be more productive.
Neil Farish, CEO of Relaymed, said: “The partnership with Siemens is a transformational one for our team with one the world’s premier electronic manufacturers in the largest healthcare market on the planet.”
Michael Sampson, Senior Vice President, North America, Siemens Healthineers, said: “Our agreement with Relaymed means an extension of our connectivity offerings for Siemens Healthineers point-of-care instruments to meet the needs of healthcare facilities burdened with excessive administrative tasks that interrupt patient care.”
During Q1 of 2017, Relaymed secured its latest funding in a £1 million round led by Florida-based Goodmark Medical with matched investment from Scottish Enterprise. The company has a planned turnover target of £1 million plus for 2017.
Neil Farish said: “Our focus is centred on building an industry-leading product by keeping the end customer in mind at all times, developing strategic partnerships like the one with Siemens and growing our team to support the next phase of growth.”
