Accountants and business advisors French Duncan LLP is hiring 15 new people as part of its ongoing expansion plans.

The 117-year-old firm is forecasting a 40% increase in staffing levels over the next five years and the 15 appointments currently on offer are in its rapidly growing Hotels Accounting team.

The appointments will be made between now and August and reflect additional new client wins and the firm’s strong intentions to expand quickly. The firm has just expanded its Finnieston offices in Glasgow to 20,000sq ft, taking on a third floor to house the projected increase in staff numbers.

Graeme Finnie, managing partner of French Duncan, explained: “These appointments highlight just how well our Hotel Accounting team is doing and reflect the growth we have already seen. This is part of our five-year expansion plan to increase our overall numbers by 40% and to grow the business alongside our traditional accountancy service offering.”

“There remain substantial growth opportunities in the accountancy sector, but we believe that the future for French Duncan lies in offering a wider range of services to our clients. As part of this we now offer HR and IT services, building on the model of our hotel accounting service. These appointments continue our recruitment drive which has already seen us appoint 24 new employees over the last nine months. We are committed to hiring the very best individuals and offering them fantastic employment prospects and a great working environment.”

Ian Bremner, Hotel Accounting Director with French Duncan, said that “These 15 new places are essential to meet the growing demand for our innovative, unique service which provides real time, automated, bespoke financial data to the hospitality sector. We have grown the Hotel Accounting Service substantially over the last few years to become one of the leading providers in this sector. I think that the market will expand substantially in the coming years as more hotel owners and management companies find out about our unique offer.”

This growth is essential to meet the growing needs of our clients and of the expanding marketplace for our services. We are investing, recruiting, and growing to meet the needs of business which is increasingly open and willing to outsource more of their activity to the best business service providers. Combining the expertise of a traditional accountancy firm with cutting edge technology designed to produce more efficient, up to the minute financials means that we are tackling head-on the key issues and challenges facing businesses to emerge a stronger, larger firm capable of competing at all levels.”
