Cathcart Energy is expanding their presence in Scandinavia with a new office opening in renewable energy hub Copenhagen following their success in the Swedish market.

Nanna Bendixen has also been appointed as a new consultant, taking over responsibility of the company’s existing accounts in Denmark, and will lead the team in adding new clients to their growing portfolio.

Cathcart Energy specialises in recruitment within the renewable energy sector across Europe. Operating out of their central office in Malmö, Sweden, they have seen exceptional growth in this market. They now work with the country’s foremost specialist energy companies, driving recruitment into the sector to help Sweden meet its target of running entirely on renewable energy within 25 years.

The move to Denmark will allow Cathcart Energy to bolster their presence in the region and expand their services to an even wider pan-European market, cementing their reputation as the go-to recruitment specialists in this increasingly important sector.

As home to some of the world’s largest wind energy companies, including Vestas Wind Systems A/S and Orsted A/S, the Danish wind sector is one of the most established in the world. The Danish government aims to achieve 50% of its overall energy consumption from renewable energy by the year 2030, and is currently well on track to reaching that target – recently the country managed to attain 43.4% energy consumption from renewables alone, setting a world record.

Luke Westendarp, Director of Cathcart Energy said: “For years Denmark has been a pioneer of renewable energy, particularly in the offshore wind sector.

This heavy focus on green energy in the region has opened up numerous opportunities for our company, and given the increasing demand for more high-end technical staff in Denmark right now, the time could not be better for Cathcart Energy to expand here.

“We are also delighted to have strengthened the new office team with the appointment of Nanna Bendixen, who will play a vital role in developing Cathcart Energy’s growing presence in the region as we enter further into the Danish market.”

Cathcart Energy seeks to continue building up relationships with skilled candidates and further increase its presence in the thriving European renewables sector, working across the EU to meet their clients unique recruitment requirements.
