IN a strategic move aimed at fostering growth and strengthening its presence in the region, R&B Switchgear Group (R&B) has appointed seasoned industry expert Neil Atkinson to lead its operations in Aberdeen. With over 20 years of experience in the international oil and gas industry, Atkinson brings a wealth of knowledge from his tenure in various sectors, including petrochemicals, polymer processing, and micro-chip technologies.
As the newly appointed head of R&B’s Aberdeen office, Atkinson will pioneer the development of a comprehensive business strategy, focusing on client relationship management, technical support, and expansion opportunities in emerging sectors. His extensive background in leading teams and implementing maintenance programs across power generation systems & electrical networks positions him as a valuable asset to the company.

In addition to the key appointment, R&B Switchgear Group is investing in its regional footprint by relocating its team to a larger, contemporary commercial unit at Unit 7, Airways Industrial Estate in Dyce. The newly constructed office, workshop, and conferencing space will facilitate on-site repairs, equipment testing, retrofits, and modifications, enhancing the company’s service capabilities.
