Microtech Group Acquire Egton Network Services

Kilmarnock-based Microtech Group has acquired Egton Network Services from Egton Medical Information Systems Ltd.
As part of the company’s ongoing acquisition strategy, the purchase complements their existing IT sales and support business, Microtech Support.
Egton Network Services (ENS) has an annual turnover of circa £2m and provides flexible network solutions, infrastructure design and implementation and hardware provision.
The new arm of the Microtech Group, Microtech Enterprise Network Services (Microtech ENS) will allow the company to build on their strategy of delivering a number of private cloud and hosted services to their customers.
Paul Mathewson, Technical Director of the Microtech Group said, “ENS brings with it additional skills and expertise in the datacentre environment which will assist with the continued growth of our cloud strategy, and allow us to expand the range of ‘cloud managed’ services in our technology portfolio.”
Microtech ENS will continue to partner with specially selected vendors such as Cisco, Meraki, Dell, Aerohive and Palo Alto. Four members of staff will move to the Ayrshire based business with all existing service contracts migrating over to the new company.
Chris McMail, Managing Director of the Microtech Group said, “ENS have strong ties in the retail and hospitality industry and will continue to serve single sites as well as multi nationals, whether that’s for a one-off contract or fully managed service. The network solutions business perfectly complements our existing IT sales and support, and will further strengthen our service offering to new and existing clients.”
Egton Managing Director Stephen Wilcock said, “I have worked with Chris and the team at Microtech for several years, I am confident they will provide a good service to our Egton Network Services customers transferring as part of this transaction and wish them well for the future.”
