LOCAL home care companies, Home Instead Glasgow North and South has won two prestigious awards at the British Recruitment Awards. Their efforts and innovative strategies to recruit care professionals and meet the growing demand for home care have received national recognition.
Home Instead Glasgow North and South were awarded the ‘In-House Recruitment Team of the Year’, and their Group Recruitment and Retention Manager, Fiona Lauder, received ‘Leader of the Year’ award.
The British Recruitment Awards acknowledge excellence in recruitment and retention across various sectors, and this year, more than 225 entries were submitted from organisations throughout the UK.
The British Recruitment Awards featured a prestigious judging panel, including executives from esteemed firms like HelloFresh, Vodafone, Wagamama, Selfridges, Walt Disney, LinkedIn, Unilever, and Grant Thornton. Some nominees among the world’s largest players were also recognised, including Accenture, NHS, Compare the Market, Poundland, and the Octopus Energy group.
Facing recruitment challenges imposed by the pandemic, Home Instead responded proactively to counter the shortage of care professionals. Their innovative recruitment campaign received great recognition as they not only highlighted care as a rewarding career, but also addressed the misconceptions surrounding financial stability.
The impactful launch of their #MenCanCare campaign, accompanied by advocating guaranteed income and salaried contracts, resulted in a notable surge in applications. Impressively, over the past six months, 20% of their newly recruited care staff were male, marking a significant increase from the previous rate of 10% in the preceding six months.
Suhail Rehman, owner of Home Instead Glasgow North and South said: “We’re incredibly proud of this achievement at The British Recruitment Awards. It’s a testament to our outstanding team’s dedication and innovative approach to recruitment, aiming to make a positive difference in the care sector.”
“Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see all our hard work acknowledged in these awards.”
Under the adept leadership of Fiona Lauder, the company bolstered its internal recruitment team from three to seven members. This expansion generated impressive results, with a remarkable 62% surge in applications and a substantial 36% reduction in employee turnover.
Fiona Lauder commented: “I’m honoured to have won the Leader of the Year Award. We have made significant strides in home care recruitment, and I look forward to our continued efforts at Home Instead with our dedicated team.”
