Law At Work, the employment law, HR and health & safety specialists, has strengthened its health and safety offering with a senior hire following a number of new client wins and a 40% increase in work across 2018.

Sarah Liversidge, who previously spent eight years as HM Inspector of Health and Safety with the Health and Safety Executive, has been appointed to the new role of Health and Safety Manager in LAW’s Aberdeen office.

The move signals a concerted effort to bolster LAW’s existing Health and Safety expertise across the North East. Sarah’s remit is to grow the Health and Safety offering across north Scotland due to increased appetite from businesses seeking to reinforce safety controls within the workplace.

In total, LAW witnessed a 40% rise in health and safety work across the business over the past year. This was due to a number of new client wins, including: Duncan and Todd, the eyecare and hearing care specialist and Glasgow Distillery, to add to existing contracts including the Aberdeen-based The Chester Hotel.

Sarah Liversidge, Health and Safety Manager, LAW, said: “The emphasis Law At Work places on providing the highest quality Health and Safety advice was an obvious draw to the position.

“I look forward to working with the company’s vast range of clients and using my knowledge and expertise within the sector to continually go above and beyond our customers.”

Increased emphasis on mental health well-being within the workplace and continuing questions over health and safety legislation have delivered a growing demand for external support. As have the ongoing investigations surrounding Grenfell, which have also resulted in numerous sectors looking for more support for fire risk assessment and general fire prevention support.

Douglas Cameron, Head of Safety Support Services, LAW, adds: “I am very pleased to welcome Sarah to the Law At Work team.

“She brings an impressive track record and wealth of experience within the Health & Safety sector to her new role, which I’m sure will have a positive impact on current and future clients. We are experiencing concerted growth in this area of the business, particularly across the North East, and Sarah’s appointment puts us in a great position for further expansion.”
