ISLE of Mull Hotel & Spa has been named Scotland’s ‘Leading Boutique Hotel’ in this year’s prestigious World Travel Awards where it was up against some of Scotland’s most luxury hotels.

The newly renovated four-star hotel, which is part of Crerar Hotels impressive portfolio, has been recognised amongst Scotland’s top offerings including Golf View Hotel & Spa, after being shortlisted in the summer.

The iconic island hotel located within the picturesque pocket of Craignure Bay underwent a £4.5million refurbishment of the hotel’s bedrooms, restaurant and public spaces as well as the launch of Driftwood Spa last year.

The award win was announced at the 29th annual World Travel Awards in Spain on Saturday 1st October 2022. The global awards recognise and honour the very best in travel and tourism and are voted for by travel professionals, media and consumers worldwide.

Chris Wayne-Wills, CEO of Crerar Hotels, said: “We are incredibly proud we have been able to continue to invest in the Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa which is one of the reasons why we believe we have been successful in The World Travel Awards, and the upgrade has been extremely well-received by guests.

“We were amongst some of the country’s leading hotels, so it is a real honour to be recognised and to achieve the title of Scotland’s ‘Leading Boutique Hotel.’

“It is fantastic that our offering is standing out following the refurbishment and launch of the spa, it truly is the place to stay when looking for an island getaway as it offers luxury, wellness and adventure, ensuring something for every traveller.

“It’s also thanks to the fantastic team at Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa led by our general manager John, that we can pride ourselves on offering authentic Scottish hospitality and a brilliant service to all.”

John de Villiers, General Manager of Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa, said: “We are incredibly proud to be named Scotland’s ‘Leading Boutique Hotel’, it is a brilliant way to enter the autumn season.

“We’re delighted that the World Travel Awards agree with our guests, it is also a real boost to the team as all of their hard work is paying off.”

Earlier this year, Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa was also awarded the Best Country Hotel at the Prestige Hotel Awards in recognition of its stunning location on the Isle of Mull, surrounded by local wildlife, views of the waters and open spaces to explore.
