CHARLOTTE Street Partners, the strategic consultancy based in Edinburgh and London, continues to invest in an increasingly global team, despite the difficult trading conditions associated with Covid-19.

The advisory business, founded by Andrew Wilson and Malcolm Robertson in 2014, has this summer hired two new researchers through its highly successful internship programme, which has proved an effective means of identifying new talent for the firm over the past few years.

Joining the company as researchers – albeit remotely,  are Ralitsa Bobcheva and Li-Ann Chin, who negotiated a recruitment process that saw nearly 100 people apply for an initial summer internship with the firm.

Bobcheva and Chin, both of whom are recent graduates of University College London, have yet to meet their new colleagues in the flesh, with lockdown restrictions meaning their initial onboarding activities have been limited to video conferences and online communications thus far.

Harriet Moll, creative director at Charlotte Street Partners, said: “We feel that the firm is thriving and doing its best work yet, with everyone in the team contributing exceptionally well from various corners of the UK and, indeed, Europe.

“We continue to foster a diverse and inclusive culture that represents our commitment to ‘difference’, whether that be different thinking, different approach, or making a difference for our clients.

“As a firm we are now serving our clients from multiple locations, although our home remains Edinburgh. The past few months have proved, though, that it is possible to live in Scotland and work anywhere, and equally to live anywhere and work in Scotland. We are giving a lot of thought to what that means for our firm, our clients and our team”.

Four of the consultancy’s current team of 20 were identified via the internship programme, with two of those four – Katie Stanton and Javier Maquieira – achieving promotions this month, to associate partner and senior associate, respectively.
