Futr, the chat-as-a-service leader, has appointed former Fuse Universal global sales head Tom Ridley as its new vice president of sales. The new hire comes as the business continues its mission of using artificial intelligence to disrupt the delivery of customer service.

Futr provides artificial intelligence-powered chatbots to various sectors, allowing clients to serve their customers more effectively by supporting existing customer service teams. The company has seen significant uptake in policing, charities, housing and retail, with customers including First Choice Homes Oldham, CALM, Suffolk Constabulary, Northamptonshire Police and Loreburn Housing Association.

Andy Wilkins, co-founder and CEO at Futr, said, “Interest in chatbots across a variety of sectors has exploded, as more organisations realise its importance in instantly simplifying access and completely changing how  customer service is delivered. Tom’s experience building sales functions that meet customers’ needs will help us supply that demand as we continue our growth trajectory.”

Tom Ridley, VP of Sales at Futr, said, “I’m delighted to be joining a company with a rapidly expanding customer base, delivering a truly innovative solution that helps a wide range of businesses and other organisations meet the needs of their own customers. We all have high expectations of what great service looks like, and Futr is at the vanguard of supporting all organisations to deliver that, not just a privileged few.”

The appointment comes following Futr’s successful £2.1 million funding round, which saw new investors Blackfinch Ventures join existing backers Praetura Ventures and the British Robotics Fund to support the company’s ongoing growth. The investment will see the business continue its growth trajectory and support the demand for its services.
