Flame Heating Group expands into Scotland with three new locations

05/03/2018

Flame Heating Group is expanding into Scotland with the opening of Heating & Plumbing outlets in Glasgow, Ayr and Edinburgh.
The move into Scotland will lead to the creation of at least 10 jobs across the three locations, with scope for further expansion.
The North East of England-headquartered firm has opened its first branch in Scotland, on the Excelsior Industrial Estate, Glasgow, which has created three jobs.
The 4,285 sq.ft Glasgow branch will be led by Branch Director Stuart McTurk, with the support of Darren Kipling, Commercial Manager at Flame. The company is to create a further role to support the running of the outlet, with the view of adding a fourth member of staff.
There is also scope to expand the premises with a bathroom showroom in the future, which will create further job opportunities.

Locations in Ayr and Edinburgh will follow the Glasgow opening, with the Ayr outlet expected to open shortly after Glasgow, while the company is currently seeking a Branch Director for its Edinburgh branch.
Established in 2011, Flame currently operates 10 branches, employing in excess of 50 staff. Turnover soared to £14.5m last year, building on its £6.4m revenues in 2016.
It specialises in heating spares for commercial and domestic applications, renewable energy solutions and bathrooms, working with a number of leading, global manufacturers.
John Savage, Managing Director of Flame Heating Group, said: “This has been a long time coming and I am delighted that we are in a position to export our services to the Scottish market, which marks an exciting period in our short history. Launching outside of our traditional North East roots has always been an ambition of mine, which will support the strong growth we have enjoyed over the last seven years.
“Further launches will follow Glasgow, as we identify key areas and locations in Scotland, while also opening further branches in the North East. I am confident we will replicate the success Flame has enjoyed, in Scotland, as we continue to grow our customer base, take on new contracts and increase our geographical reach.”
Stuart McTurk added: “The opportunity to join such a growing company was one that I couldn’t pass up, and the chance to build something special was a big draw. To be involved with Flame’s first branch in Scotland is exciting and there is plenty of scope for success. It will be a massive challenge, but one I am ready for, and my experience of the local market and industry as a whole, will stand me in good stead.”
