Edinburgh’s Ideal Electrical Solutions expands headquarters

Edinburgh based Ideal Electrical Solutions (UK) Limited has secured a funding package from Santander Business Banking to support the expansion of its headquarters in Edinburgh. The firm has seen increased demand for its services and the new premises will allow for further growth.

Set up in 2008 by Mark Denholm, IES has since grown into a team of six office staff and 14 electrical engineers. Its customer base has a solid range of clients from residential home owners, landlords and letting agents to residential and commercial developers. A recent project involved IES working on a significant renovation project for a 282-room hotel in the centre of Edinburgh.

The funding from Santander Business Banking has allowed the team at IES to purchase a property adjacent to their offices as part of their expansion plans. The additional space will provide more space for contractors and additional staff, and will also be used as an employee training centre and event space to host current and prospective clients.

Mark Denholm, Director, Ideal Electrical Solutions (UK) Limited, said: “Having set up the business on my own 10 years ago, it’s truly exciting that we are now a 20 staff team winning large contracts across Edinburgh. The new property will provide us with significantly more space to handle larger contracts and is key to our future expansion plans.”

Sean Millan, Relationship Director, Santander Business Banking said: “Ideal Electrical Solutions has positioned itself very well against its competitors, particularly given its ability to take on both large and small domestic and commercial contracts. The business has also switched its full service banking to Santander so we look forward to working with Mark and the team to help them capitalise on new growth opportunities.”
