Burges Salmon appoints new private equity partner in Corporate and M&A team

Andrew Mills (Burges Salmon)

BURGES Salmon is pleased to announce the appointment of private equity specialist Andrew Mills as a partner in its Corporate and M&A team.

Andrew joins Burges Salmon from MJ Hudson, where he was a partner and head of its M&A team.

Andrew’s practice focuses on providing advice concerning private equity, infrastructure and general corporate transactions, including competitive auction sales, GP-led portfolio sales and investments into GPs, co-investments, joint ventures and equity fundraising.

Andrew is a qualified solicitor in England & Wales, having trained at Hogan Lovells and then worked in Clifford Chance’s Private Equity Group for six years, including six months in its Frankfurt office in 2012.

Andrew commented: “The highly-regarded reputation in the market of Burges Salmon’s Corporate Group precedes itself.  I’m very pleased to be joining the firm to reinforce its ongoing strategy of ambitious growth and am looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm to support its national and international client-base across a range of complex transactional matters.”

Andrew is a fluent German speaker and will be closely involved in helping strengthen the firm’s International offering with its Preferred Firm Network in Germany, one of the firm’s key jurisdictions in Europe.

Nick Graves, the Head of Burges Salmon’s Corporate Group, concluded: “This latest appointment marks a really pleasing period of positive growth for our Corporate Group and demonstrates continued progress and ongoing investment, particularly following the appointment of energy transition partner Malcolm Donaldin November last year and the recent announcement of Alex Lloyd as a new Corporate and M&A partner from 1 May this year.  We’re all delighted to welcome a lawyer of Andrew’s calibre to the team.”

Andrew Mills joined Burges Salmon on Tuesday 11 April 2023.
