Ayrshire dentists sink teeth into expansion

A dental clinic in Troon, Breeze Dental, has new owners thanks to a six-figure finance package from Royal Bank of Scotland.

Dental partners and long-term friends, Greig Stevenson and Colin Hunter, have bought the practice, adding to their existing portfolio of surgeries in Dalry, Beith and Kilbirnie.

Their current business, which employs around 25 members of staff, launched in 2014 and operates under the name One Dental Care.

Along with the Royal Bank of Scotland funding, Ritchie Whyte, Corporate Partner at law firm Aberdein Considine provided legal support throughout the acquisition.

Greig Stevenson, Dental Partner at One Dental Care, said: “Colin and I are incredibly grateful for Royal Bank of Scotland and Aberdein Considine’s support in our latest venture. It was our dream at university in 1998 to own our own dental practice, and the purchase of Breeze Dental now marks our fifth acquisition in four years. We are incredibly proud of the business we have grown, and it’s our aim to continue provide the highest quality of dentistry at Breeze Dental and across all of our other four practices.”

Charles Robertson, Relationship Director at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “Colin and Greig have been fantastic to work with, and we wish them every success with their latest acquisition. The enthusiasm they share for their surgeries and patients is clear to see, and they are both extremely influential dentists within the industry. We have backed One Dental Care since the very beginning, and we look forward to seeing where they take their business next.”

Ritchie Whyte, Corporate Partner at Aberdein Considine, said: “It’s been a pleasure working with Colin and Grieg who have shown huge passion and determination to build One Dental Care into what is an incredibly successful business. They’ve developed a reputation for the highest standards of patient care and this acquisition is a reflection of their commitment and ambition.”
