An award-winning educator and author, Professor Aulet has taught some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs. Before joining MIT, he had a successful 25-year business career, first at IBM and then as a serial entrepreneur, creating hundreds of millions of dollars of shareholder value through his companies.

The Scotland Can Do SCALE programme launched in 2015 and is delivered in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Funding Council. It provides entrepreneurs with a step-by-step approach to develop the skills required for business growth through interactive learning for first-time and repeat entrepreneurs. Drawing on the expertise of world leading educators, specialists and peers, participants will have the opportunity to take a step back from the daily demands of growing their business to develop a robust strategy for growth combined with a practical action plan.

Professor Bill Aulet, said: “Scotland Can Do SCALE is a fantastic opportunity, a Summer school where we deliver an outstanding education opportunity for a concentrated period of time to dramatically enhance the skills of entrepreneurs.

“We give ambitious businesses theoretical, practical and commercial advice. The programme is based on the tried and tested teachings from the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship and is contextualised for Scotland, offering a level of training totally unique to and tailored for Scotland.”

“The Scotland Can Do SCALE retreat setting is a vital part of this, providing the opportunity for businesses to learn from experts and peers in an environment which allows them to focus on their business, rather than in it. We look forward to meeting the business leaders of 2019.”

Lorna Clayton, founder of Academic Families and Scotland Can Do SCALE Alumni, said: “If you’re looking to ensure you have the right mindset to deliver growth and scale your business, to network and to make good connections, there is simply no better way to do this than to go on the programme. You learn not only from world class educationists like Bill, but from your peer group too. It’s such an inspiring, supportive and invigorating environment. The Can Do SCALE programme has really helped the company focus, grow, and make better business decisions.”

The programme is being held at the four-star Dunblane Hydro in Perthshire, on 3 – 6 June, and costs £850. There are 50 places available for businesses with the potential to scale, have a minimum £250k turnover, are on track to reach a minimum £1m turnover, and have the determination to grow by 20%, year on year, over a three-year period.
