THE Ambassador Group has announced the official groundbreaking on a £15m development on one of its properties at Livingston’s Alba Campus, bringing with it up to 120 new jobs to the area once complete.

Ambassador Group announced an extension of 50,000 square feet to their building in West Lothian and a 30 per cent increase in floor space. With work having now begun on the new facility, construction is being led by Muir Construction and it is expected that the extension project will take approximately 15 months to complete.

As part of the extension plans, Ambassador Group has also signed a new long-term lease extension with its tenants over the increased 165,000 sqft state of the art facility, bringing further economic investment and job security to Scotland and strengthening Scotland’s position as a global leader in life science research.

With over 1,100 local people currently employed within the building and playing a vital role in understanding the effectiveness, impact, and safety of medicines on different patients, the site in Livingston is a top choice for those in the life science sector due to its proximity and ease of access to Edinburgh Airport.

Chris Richardson, managing director of Ambassador Investments, said: “Ambassador Group is investing heavily in this landmark development, which is great for the local economy and for the wider Scottish economy.

“We recognise that to keep businesses that offer a fundamental service, we must grow and evolve with them, so we are pleased to be delivering a site that will secure their future here for years to come.

“This latest investment reinforces Scotland’s position as a global leader and is testament to the skilled workforce and diversity of the Scottish life science sector which continue to grow here in Scotland.  We are delighted to play our part in ensuring its future.”
