INTERNATIONAL firm Addleshaw Goddard has continued the growth of its Infrastructure and Energy team with the recruitment of an experienced new Partner in Edinburgh.

Euan Wilson, who joins from Dentons, will work closely with the firm’s wider Infrastructure and Energy team with a particular focus on infrastructure asset management and the expiry and handback of PFI projects across the UK, as well advising Central Government and the wider public sector on a range of infrastructure matters.

The appointment creates a six partner strong projects team in Scotland, coming after Euan’s former Dentons colleagues Stewart Maciver, David Cruickshank and Andrew Orr joined existing partners Suzanne Moir and Ian le Pelley at the firm in 2023. It also continues the expansion of Addleshaw Goddard’s Infrastructure and Energy team internationally, with recent recruits including a seven-strong energy team in Germany and project finance specialist Bruce Chen in London.

Alan Shanks, Head of Scotland at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “Over the past three years we’ve been building a team that is now among the largest in Scotland, with Suzanne Moir, Ian Le Pelley, Stewart Maciver, David Cruickshank and Andrew Orr creating exciting practices delivering some very high-profile work in the local market, across the UK and overseas. Beyond Scotland, the wider Infrastructure and Energy team has also seen significant growth and has added a strong international component to a thriving domestic offering.”

Euan Wilson said: “Having worked opposite from the team at Addleshaw Goddard for many years, especially in relation to infrastructure asset management, I know the quality of the practice that I am joining and I’m delighted to be part of its ambition to be a dominant player in the market. The ability to work with a first-class team in Scotland, with an enviable roster of clients and a clear strategy for growth across the UK and internationally is refreshing and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continuing success.”

Richard Goodfellow, Addleshaw Goddard’s head of Infrastructure and Energy, added: “Euan is a vastly experienced, highly regarded partner and his practice, along with those of our other recent recruits, covers a broad range of projects work including infrastructure asset management, UK Government/MOD/Crown Commercial Services appointments, healthcare, PFI/PPP and Energy. We know he will be a great fit at Addleshaw Goddard and will provide increased bench strength in key UK and European markets. He will play an important role in advancing our practice, particularly in the social infrastructure space.”

The appointment marks the Addleshaw Goddard’s 12th partner hire north of the Border over the past year. The firm reported record results last year, with global revenue up 18% to £443 million and Scottish income enjoying its sixth consecutive double-digit increase due to work carried out in its offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
