GLOBAL lifting and pulling experts, ACE Winches, have been named as a finalist in the 2023 Net-Zero Energy Transition Awards, in the ‘Green Business Growth Award’ category.
The awards, organised by Scottish Renewables, and sponsored by TotalEnergies, take place on the 24th of August at the P&J Live in Aberdeen. Individuals, companies. and projects from across Scotland’s renewable sector will be recognised for their work delivering energy transition projects in a local and global level.
ACE Winches planted its roots in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, over 30 years ago, supporting the local fishing industry with winch equipment. From humble beginnings, the organisation has grown into the global presence it is today, providing complex, high-end engineering solutions and equipment for a variety of industries, notable the renewable energy sector.
Over the years, the company has diversified into new markets, supporting the installation of offshore wind farms in global locations. Recently, ACE Winches provided winch equipment and personnel for a wind farm project located off the coast of Angus. Once finished, it will be Scotland’s largest, and the world’s deepest fixed foundation offshore wind farm, powering more than 1.6 ,million homes. They have also been involved in the realisation of offshore wind farms in Taiwan – a region that has an objective to produce at east 60% of its total energy from renewable sources by 2050.
