Once finished, it will be Scotland’s largest, and the world’s deepest fixed foundation offshore wind farm, powering more than 1.6 ,million homes. They have also been involved in the realisation of offshore wind farms in Taiwan – a region that has an objective to produce at east 60% of its total energy from renewable sources by 2050.

Valerie Cheyne, Chief Compliance Officer at ACE Winches, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted in the Net-Zero Energy Transition Awards ‘Green Business Growth’ category. Over the years, our strength has been our ability to adapt to changing priorities, whilst providing high-quality products and services, and investing in our people and facilities. With a focus on renewables as a key growth market, extensive investment in our rental fleet, and contracts in the global renewable sector, the business is positioned to serve a net-carbon future.

“We recently celebrated two years as a carbon neutral company, and as part of our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, installed a wind turbine at our headquarters in Aberdeenshire. Other initiatives have included reusing and refurbishing existing materials and installing electric car charging facilities. We regularly engage with our local community and establish partnerships with schools to support green training and jobs.

“We believe our green business growth efforts and commitment to sustainability have not only been good business, but the right thing to do for our environment, and the local and global community.”
