Silverburn has been named Most Outstanding Business at the 2026 Glasgow Business Awards, also retaining its title as the city’s Best Performing Large Business.

The retail and leisure destination took the overall award, sponsored by BAE Systems, which was selected from among the category winners. Its large business award, sponsored by Nationwide, follows its win in the same category in 2025.

Glasgow Chamber of Commerce announced the winners on 2 October following the ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central. Hosted by Fred MacAulay, the 28th awards presented 17 titles covering business performance, innovation, sustainability, workplace culture and community wealth building.

The Solutions on Demand Group Ltd also secured two awards, winning Best Performing Small-Medium Business and Innovation in Business. The group provides managed IT, telecoms, web development and marketing services to growing businesses.

Rhona Baillie OBE, chief executive of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. During her 18 years in the role, she led the £21 million capital appeal that delivered the hospice’s Bellahouston Park facility and chaired the Scottish Hospices Leadership Group through the pandemic. She will step down at the end of 2026.

Richard Muir, deputy chief executive at Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “Glasgow’s business community continues to give us a great deal to celebrate, and this year’s winners are outstanding examples of the talent, determination and enterprise found across the city.

“The judges were particularly impressed by the evidence behind each organisation’s achievements, whether through growth, innovation or wider impact.”

Among the other winners, Green Fulfilment Ltd took Best Use of Digital Technology, while Glasgow Clyde College won Community Wealth Building. Brian Williamson of Synlata was named Entrepreneur of the Year, and Pranav Sharman of Allied Vehicles Group won Young Business Person of the Year.

Dear Green received the Sustainable Development award, Hope in Place CIC was named Green Champion, and Peel Ports Clydeport won Net Zero Achievement.

Kibble took the Fair and Healthy Workplace award, Strachan & Kemp Facilities Services Ltd won Family Business of the Year, and Stratum Masonry received the Inspiring Future Talent title. Circulus won Excellence in Communications, while Citizens Theatre was named Glasgow’s Favourite Business.

Dame Debbie Crosbie DBE, chief executive officer at Nationwide Building Society, said: “The Glasgow Business Awards were a fantastic celebration of the talent, ambition and resilience of the city’s business community. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. Nationwide is proud to celebrate your success and the contribution you make to Glasgow and Scotland.”
