Startup Grind Aberdeen is excited to announce its upcoming headline event, “Latitude 57° Meets Latitude 59°: A Startup Crossroad for Aberdeen & Tallinn,” happening on April 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at ONE Tech Hub, Aberdeen.

This one-of-a-kind event bridges two innovation-driven cities—Aberdeen and Tallinn—to explore how Estonia, a country of just 1.3 million people, has become a global startup powerhouse. Known for producing unicorns like Bolt, Wise, and Pipedrive, Estonia’s digital infrastructure and founder-friendly ecosystem have inspired entrepreneurs across the globe to build big from anywhere.

Estonia’s own Markus Villig, founder of Bolt, beat Uber in several markets by doing something different—not by relocating, but by innovating from Tallinn. His journey reminds us that it’s not about geography—it’s about vision, execution, and bold thinking.

What to Expect:

  • Think Global, Build Global – Learn how to launch a world-class startup from day one
  • The Unicorn Blueprint – Explore how Estonia built companies like Bolt, Wise, and Pipedrive
  • e-Residency Insights – Discover how Estonia’s digital citizenship unlocks EU market access
  • Latitude59 Preview – Get insider knowledge on Estonia’s top startup and tech conference
  • Pitch to Win – One lucky founder will win a FREE ticket to Latitude59 in Tallinn!

Special Guest:

Mats Kuuskemaa, Country Director 🇩🇪🇵🇱🇨🇭🇦🇹 at e-Residency (Government of Estonia)
Mats will share how Estonia empowers founders to launch and scale 100% online, accessing European markets from anywhere in the world.

“This is about levelling the playing field for Scottish startups,” says Oluwaseun Franklin Olabode., Director of Startup Grind Aberdeen. “If Estonia can build billion-dollar companies from Tallinn, Aberdeen can do the same. This is the moment to learn how.”
