Growing companies may be interested in a seminar to be hosted in Edinburgh by the German city of Dusseldorf on 29 November. Entitled ‘Scale up your business into Germany’, it provides companies interested in having a German operation to service customers in mainland Europe with a range of advice and two key case studies.

One of the speakers is Scotsman Adam Hill, Founder and Director of start-up Fussball-experience.com. A former management consultant who has worked all over the world, he chose Dusseldorf for his new venture which inspires and motivates young people and football fans to get behind the scenes at Germany’s leading football clubs and institutions – and exploits his personal passion for football.

“Dusseldorf is a great place to build a business,” he says. “German companies focus on the long-term, and they welcome serious partnerships that are clearly meant to be long-lasting. Having an office over here is therefore key, and the calibre of support from advisers and the city is outstanding.”

He also values the potential for new companies to grow their talent-base. “As well as internships, there are student-trainee ‘werkstudents’, not to mention excellent universities and colleges.  The high quality of life, international environment, central European location with easy access to all corners of the world, and the friendly and helpful community also attracted me to setting up here,” adds Adam.

Welcomed by the Mayor of Dusseldorf, guests will also hear from the CEO and Co-Founder of the Cognigy Artificial Intelligence platform. They will get expert advice from legal and tax experts, and learn about the support available from the City of Dusseldorf’s International Business Service.

The free seminar is to be held at Codebase, Castle Terrace, Edinburgh on 29 November, starting at 4.30pm. For more details and to apply to attend, click on bit.ly/2Ch7wRQ.
