Water and waste water services provider Brightwater is marking its second year of trading, announcing its current customer portfolio has exceeded £3m in contracted revenues. The Musselburgh-based business, which began trading in May 2016, has picked up £1.92m in new contracts in the last 12 months, taking on management at 1,447 new commercial premises across Scotland in that period.
Among its new customer wins is Glasgow-based Keane Premier Healthcare which runs three care homes in the city. Brightwater will initially provide services at two of its sites in Cambuslang and Rutherglen. Other recent contract wins include national carpark operators Q-park; the Scottish SPCA; Kangaroo Self-Storage and Dublin-based Ogalas Ltd, servicing its Home Store + More retail sites in Scotland.
Brightwater was set up by entrepreneur Roger Green, who also founded the successful, UK-wide commercial cleaning business Spotless in 1988 while studying at University of Edinburgh, and digital marketing expert Rich Rankin. Brightwater’s board includes Chairman Steve Langmead, a highly regarded and experienced business leader who is former chief executive of Capita Scotland, an existing non-executive director at IT firm Commsworld and board member of both the National Trust for Scotland and YoungScot.
Brightwater’s business model is based on supporting SMEs across Scotland by delivering cost savings of over £1m in its first three years through competitive pricing, efficiency optimisation and outstanding customer service. The company underlines its customer commitment through its Small Business Charter which sets a number of clear service pledges including easy switching from other suppliers, advice on water efficiency and usage reduction, water audits, bill validation and rebates.
