Traveltek appoints VP Sales Europe to accelerate regional expansion drive

Traveltek Group Ltd has appointed a Vice President Sales Europe to accelerate its ongoing regional expansion drive.

Monika Holland, who brings more than 18 years of industry experience to the newly-created role, will be based in The Netherlands, responsible for spearheading the technology specialist’s business development strategy in Central and Southern Europe, as well as Scandinavia.

She joins Traveltek from HotelPlanner.com, an international travel technology company providing a group booking engine to travel industry leaders such as Expedia, Hotels.com and Best Western.com, where she spent the last six years as Vice President Sales EMEA. Holland has also worked in several sales and product management roles in the UK and Europe for major hospitality firms including French hotel giant Accor.

“Europe is a high-growth potential region and a key focus of our ongoing expansion plans and Monika, with her proven track record in sales management and business development, is a great fit for this new role,” said Kenny Picken, President & CEO, Traveltek Group Ltd.

“Her cost control, revenue management and team leadership skills will also prove essential as we continue to grow our sales force and expand our global reach.”

He added: “I’d like to welcome Monika on board and wish her every success as we embark on the next phase of our growth strategy.”

Traveltek’s European sales team also includes Neil Welsh, Head of Sales, EMEA and two Business Development Managers – Stuart Charles and Oliver Chesterton.

Holland’s appointment is part of the company’s recently-announced sales management team restructure. She will report to the new Senior Vice President Sales EMEA, a well-known travel industry ‘name’, who is expected to join the team next month.

The other two regional SVP Sales have already been appointed, with Francis Riley responsible for the Americas, based at Traveltek’s US headquarters in Miami, and Paul Millan heading up Asia Pacific, dividing his time between the company’s Singapore, Sydney and Hong Kong offices. Both Riley and Millan are also bolstering their respective teams with new recruits.

“I relish the opportunity to use my skill set and expertise to open and develop new European markets for the company, which offers cutting-edge solutions for the travel trade that, in my opinion, are unrivalled in the global market place.”

She added: “My mission is to also help the sales teams maximise their potential and take Traveltek’s profits to new heights.”
