Historically a pioneer and entrepreneurial powerhouse, Scotland has entered a golden-era of technology innovation and Johnston Carmichael’s upcoming ‘Talking Tech’ event is aimed at supporting the flourishing sector.
The accountancy and business advisory firm is curating ‘Talking Tech’ – an upcoming series of talks, workshops, masterclasses and networking opportunities to facilitate growth in Scotland’s burgeoning scene.

The three-day event, which takes place in Edinburgh on the 1st , 2nd & 5th March, aims to help entrepreneurs in the technology, life sciences and renewable sectors to start their businesses and scale up.
As part of ‘Talking Tech’ the firm has produced a new video featuring some of Scotland’s most exciting tech start-ups including Glasgow based Organised Health Technologies, a prescription platform and pharmacy app and Snap40 who last summer secured £2 million in funding what was the largest seed funding round for a Scottish start-up in more than a decade.

Technology is a strategic growth area for Johnston Carmichael. The firm has built up a team of specialist advisers, drawn from departments ranging from innovation taxes to corporate finance, who are highly experienced at helping fast growth businesses to maximise vital tax reliefs and access the capital they require to achieve growth.
The evening event on Thursday 1st will be hosted by Bruce Walker from FutureX and speakers include Nick Jones, founder of Galvanise Capital, which provides early stage funding for tech businesses; and Devina Paul, finance director of Aquila Insight. The afternoon workshops include ‘What Investors Want: Tax Breaks Explained’ – followed by a talk on ‘R&D Tax Credits’. Pitch masterclasses featuring a stellar panel of tech entrepreneurs also form part of the informative programme on the 2nd & 5th.
