UK spa group PURE Spa & Beauty has opened its first crowdfunding campaign, as the business seeks upwards of £150K to scale up its brand of urban wellness around the UK.

PURE has enjoyed 16 years of success and organic growth under founder and CEO Becky Woodhouse, operating eight UK spas plus recently launching the PURE product range and the natural beauty marketplace, the PURE Beauty Zone.

The business is now inviting loyal clients and investors to become PURE share owners as the business looks to open more outlets in cities around the UK – with London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Newcastle and Liverpool all on its target list.

PURE’s is crowdfunding through Crowdcube.

Investment will start at £10 and there is a host of VIP rewards and benefits on offer for shareholders with £50 or more invested. The PURE team hopes this new investment community will also become a valuable sounding board for the business as it grows.

The business currently operates spas in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, with 150 trained staff delivering 100,000 treatments every year to a database of 220,000 active clients.

All PURE spas are currently reporting 20% year on year growth with some of the highest ratings on Tripadvisor and Google (4.5 to 5 stars). The business has also won a host of industry awards – most recently Unique Spa of the Year (Luxury Travel Group Spa & Wellness Awards 2018).

The spa and wellness sector is currently booming, with UK consumers spending an estimated £7.6 billion on treatments in spas and salons in 2017 – a figure that is expected to surpass £8bn by 2021. PURE Spa & Beauty is poised to capitalise on this demand, with an ambitious expansion plan to open more spa outlets in the UK – as well as extending PURE’s own brand of signature treatments and high quality, natural skin care products available in spas and online, with the addition of body oils, home products, accessories and fragrances.

Becky Woodhouse said: “We are excited to be launching our first ever fundraise which will give our 220,000 wonderful clients the opportunity to own a part of our business. We know from feedback and reviews that PURE clients have come to love our spa and beauty treatments, products, environment and the service they enjoy from the PURE team. Accessibility is at the heart of our business, and what could be more accessible than offering share ownership in our business with investment starting at £10?

“In line with the growing interest in wellness, our plan is to open new PURE Spa & Beauty locations in high footfall retail centres across the UK’s biggest cities. We have identified a large client demand for our accessible spa and beauty model in many centres around the UK, and we are very ambitious to take our 16 years of experience in successful spa operations to a wider UK market. We hope that our clients and investors will join us by becoming part owners of our wonderful company and share in the next phase of our exciting journey.”
