California-based healthtech firm NextGate has opened an office in Glasgow.
The new location strengthens NextGate’s presence in the U.K. while procuring access to a pool of young, local talent in the heart of the region’s area universities and emerging tech community.

The company opened its Glasgow branch, located at 100 W. George Street, with six full-time employees and plans to hire more staff to support both current and future customers and to meet the rising demand for accurate patient and provider data across the U.K. and European health sectors.
The expansion represents a key development for NextGate as it continues to establish itself internationally as the premier patient identification provider. The company’s full suite of identity management solutions address formidable challenges for organizations that rely upon accurate, comprehensive health records and reliable data exchange for critical improvements in care quality, efficiency and safety.
The announcement follows NextGate’s recently awarded multi-year contract with NHS National Services Scotland to assign and manage the National Patient Identifiers known as Community Health Index, or CHI numbers.
