Morrison Community Care announces £8.2million plan for third care home

Morrison Community Care Group announced its plans to open a third multimillion-pound care home outside Glasgow today, as residents moved into its newest facility in Milngavie.
The group opened the £6.5 million Abbotsford House Luxury Suites in Milngavie today, after a 12-month construction period.
Up to 45 residents aged over 65 will move into the care home facility, which offers 24-hour residential, nursing and dementia care.
Paul Sokhi, managing director of the small, family business, has secured planning permission for a third home in Duntocher, West Dunbartonshire. Allied Irish Bank (GB) has financed the project by £4.9million, with construction of the £8.2million care home is expected to complete in early 2019.
Stuart Wardle, relationship manager at Allied Irish Bank (GB) said: “We’ve worked with Morrison Community Care Group for 20 years and had no hesitation about financing their two newest care home facilities.
“It is an established operator with an excellent track record at caring for patients, which is something we take into consideration when working with healthcare clients.
“We’re proud to be working with an industry leader to create state-of-the-art, luxury facilities for older people on the outskirts of Glasgow.”
Paul Sokhi is managing director of Morrison Community Care Group, while his parents remain board members and shareholders.
Sokhi said: “We are focused on sustainable, long-term growth that means Morrison Community Care can provide excellent facilities and care to older people in East and West Dunbartonshire.
“Allied Irish Bank (GB) understands that our ethos and commitment to the highest quality of care means we will continue to invest in our homes, our staff and our residents’ comfort, and together we have been able to agree how to finance that.
“We are extremely proud to welcome residents into Abbotsford Luxury Suites today, and look forward to opening our new, 75-bedroom facility in Duntocher next year.”
The Allied Irish Bank (GB)-funded Abbotsford Luxury Suites in Milngavie, which opened today, comprises 45 luxury suites, four restaurants, four lounges, a private dining room, one roof terrace and two balcony terraces, private gardens, a putting green, visitors’ cafe, cinema, hair and beauty salon and a responsive, highly-trained care and clinical team.
