German tech firm takes 3,813 sq ft on St Andrew Square, Edinburgh

Berlin-headquartered KPV LAB, has expanded its offices into the UK with the letting of space in One St Andrew Square in Edinburgh.

The 3,813 sq ft top floor of the four-storey redeveloped building in the heart of the capital’s city centre features an exposed structure, services and brickwork, creating ‘de-furbished warehouse feel’ proving ever popular with office occupiers.

Steven Clarke, commercial agency surveyor at Shepherd Chartered Surveyors who facilitated the deal, said: “One St Andrew Square was an instant front runner for our client upon viewing; perhaps unsurprising given the prime location of the newly developed south side of St Andrew Square and the imminent St James development.”

“Edinburgh is fast becoming a hub for tech companies in the UK and Europe, with the industry dominating 2017 office space transactions. With further prime office developments under construction, we expect this trend to continue over the coming years, consolidating Edinburgh as a major European tech destination for occupiers.”

Tom Beddard, Director of KPV LAB Edinburgh, said: “It was the classic character of the exterior combined with the uniquely modern personality of the interior that really attracted us to One St Andrew Square. The space suitably complements our other offices in Berlin and Munich and will allow us to properly participate in the thriving tech scene in Edinburgh.”
