Full Circle Partners (FCP), the corporate advisory firm founded last year in Edinburgh by entrepreneur Mike Welch, has added to its company portfolio with award-winning civil justice startup Amiqus and baby product manufacturer Cheeky Chompers joining the fold.

A year on from launch, the FCP portfolio also includes fashion site Atterley, wearable tech startup PlayerData, land remediation company TP Knotweed and Indian online tyre retailer Tyremarket.com.

Operating highlights during FCP’s first full year include the opening of its first international office in Singapore, headed by former DKNY senior executive Debra Langley, the deployment of a £5 million property development fund under the leadership of industry stalwart Matthew Edgar, and the firm strengthening its partnership with corporate finance boutique Quest Corporate.  Next month, FCP moves into a new headquarters on Coates Crescent in Edinburgh’s West End.

Earlier this month, FCP’s first portfolio company, fashion site Atterley, announced a multi-million investment from PDS Multinational Group, a global design house and clothing manufacturer headquartered in Hong Kong.  With over 100 boutiques on its platform and currently selling to over 80 countries, the US is emerging as Atterley’s fastest-growing market and the funding round comes in the wake of an explosion of activity in the online fashion sector, including last week’s $8 billion plus Farfetch IPO on the New York Stock Exchange.

Full Circle Partners’ Founder Chairman Mike Welch, who is a keynote speaker at tomorrow’s FutureX-run Startup Summit in Edinburgh, said:

“When you look across our team and the partnerships we’re developing, it’s no surprise we’re building expertise and critical mass in online retail and digital.  At the same time, bricks and mortar can be strategically important to fast-growing companies so that’s something else we put a lot of weight behind. We see a lot of value in businesses who can bring the two together, with Atterley being a good example as it showcases independent boutiques and TP Knotweed, a land remediation company that holds a wealth of data and is starting to make an impression in the property sector.”

“When it comes to the funding piece, we want our portfolio founders to use cash in the smartest possible way, not to ‘spray and pray’ investor funds and to ensure they don’t overly dilute their ownership of the company.”
