Converged expands team with trio of new starts

An Aberdeen-based IT provider has started 2017 by recruiting three new members of staff as it continues to invest in developing its business.
Converged Communication Solutions has welcomed Ian MacIntosh as business development executive, while Alison Mitchell has taken up the role of financial controller and Emma Anderson becomes the firm’s first dedicated marketing recruit.
Converged specialises in providing Internet connections, telephone systems and IT support services, and following a two-year period of investment has one of the most extensive and robust connectivity networks in the north-east. Helping to achieve this are partnerships with CityFibre and brightsolid, and 24-hour access to nine unbundled Openreach exchanges in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Ian MacIntosh bolsters the firm’s business development team, bringing 20 years of business to business and retail sales experience to his new position.
For the past decade, Ian has worked in the IT and telecommunications sector in both support and account management roles. At Converged he will work with new and existing clients to highlight the ever evolving range of technologies the firm offers. Ian is also a member of the Aberdeen Fleshers Incorporation, part of the Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen.
As a result of continued growth at Converged, Alison Mitchell joins the business in the newly created role of financial controller. Her appointment strengthens the firm’s finance team and she brings a wealth of industry experience to the post. Alison, who holds a masters degree in business administration, will play a significant role in the future planning, forecasting and growth of the business, working closely with managing director Neil Christie.
Experienced marketer Emma Anderson will work with the firm’s growing business development team to continue to raise the profile of the company and its extensive service offering. She brings two decades of marketing experience to the position, built up in both agency and in-house roles, and working across multiple industry sectors.
Neil Christie, managing director at Converged, said: “Welcoming new faces to the Converged team is always exciting as it injects fresh ideas and perspectives. Ian, Alison and Emma bring a wealth of knowledge in their individual disciplines to the business and will provide valuable and strategic contributions as we continue to expand.
“Through continued investment, and last year’s acquisition of Century Business Systems, we have really strengthened our business. We now offer one of the most robust and extensive ranges of connectivity options in north-east Scotland, capable of meeting the needs of all sizes and types of business.
“In today’s digital economy we are all now more reliant than ever on resilient network connections and comprehensive data storage and back-up facilities. As an Independent Service Provider it is our role to support businesses in all sectors in selecting the options that are most suitable to meet all their current communication needs and to sustain any planned growth.”
